What: Step into the shadows of Illinois history for a haunted evening at The Royal Tea Room. Enjoy candlelit tea service while we recount the chilling stories of the state’s most famous haunts—from the legendary Resurrection Mary to eerie tales of haunted theaters, asylums, and historic mansions. Whether you're a believer or a skeptic, you’ll leave with goosebumps...and a fright or two...

Disclaimer: This event includes immersive elements designed to enhance the haunted atmosphere. Guests may experience sudden sounds, startling moments, or unexpected encounters throughout the evening. While all frightful fun is in good spirits, those sensitive to jump scares or theatrical surprises should take caution. 

Cost:  $60.00 per person – Includes a devilishly good 3-course themed afternoon tea, bottomless pours of three wickedly brewed teas, and a side of spine-tingling frights—on the house. 

Ages: Intended for brave souls aged 16 and up. Parental discretion is advised. This evening will delve into chilling tales of death, restless spirits, haunted legends, and unexpected frights that may linger long after the last sip of tea. 

Reservation Disclaimer: To reserve your table, a non-refundable deposit equal to half the per-person cost is required for each guest in your party. You may reserve for up to 4 guests per transaction. Please note: Deposits are non-transferable and may not be applied toward another guest’s balance or reservation. If you’d like to be seated with or near another reservation, just mention it in the notes section at checkout—we’ll do our best to keep your party together.

What: Step into a world of holiday wonder at The Royal Tea Room—an experience created just for our youngest guests! Delight in hands-on gingerbread crafting, sip festive drinks, nibble on sweet seasonal treats, and enjoy the joyful sounds of holiday music all around.

Cost: $34.00 per child. Includes:

• Gingerbread cardboard house craft activity with supplies
• Holiday favor bag
• Children's afternoon tea (see menu below) 
• One deluxe hot chocolate

Adults: There is no cost for adults to attend. A food & beverage menu will be available for purchase. Please note that craft activities and favor bags are reserved for children.

Ages: Recommended for children ages 5–12 with an accompanying adult. 

Menu: Children's afternoon tea is a plated offering. Our Gingerbread Afternoon Tea includes each of the following: 

• (1) PB&J tea sandwich
• (1) turkey & cheddar tea sandwich
• (1) chocolate chip scone
• (1) grilled cheese triangle
• (1) holiday sweet treat
• fresh fruit

To keep things stress-free (because little hands can be a bit wiggly!), children’s afternoon tea and drink selections will be served on sturdy disposable wares.

• Cancellations may be made until 11:59 AM on Tuesday, November 11th for a full refund. 
• Time changes (12 PM to 4 PM or vice versa) may be made—based on availability—until 11:59 AM on Monday, November 24th.

What: Step into a world where the glow of candlelight meets the sparkle of Christmas. On Friday, December 12th at 6:00pm, The Royal Tea Room invites you to an enchanting evening of holiday elegance. Indulge in a 5-course Christmas-inspired afternoon tea, sip on festive seasonal blends, and let the delicate strains of a live harpist fill the air with timeless carols. Each guest will be welcomed with a warm seasonal drink, treated to a holiday favor, and surrounded by the magic of the season—because at Christmas, even the candles seem to twinkle a little brighter. 

Cost: $78.00 per guest – Includes live holiday music from classically trained harpist Lauren McCombe, a festive welcome beverage, a five-course afternoon tea and specially selected seasonal teas. 

Ages: For this festive gathering, we kindly welcome guests 16 and older, helping us keep the atmosphere merry, bright, and enjoyable for all.

Reserve: To reserve your table, a non-refundable reservation deposit of $39.00 is required. This deposit will be applied to your final bill. The reminaing balance plus applicable tax and gratuity are due at the time of the event. If you’d like to be seated with or near another reservation, just mention it in the notes section at checkout—we’ll do our best to keep your party together.

Delight in the delicate sounds of live holiday music performed by classically trained harpist Lauren McCombe, filling the tearoom with notes as magical as falling snow. Each guest will receive a traditional English Christmas cracker to pop with joy and a keepsake ornament to treasure long after the tea lights fade.

Then, settle in for a three-course afternoon tea, perfectly paired with three specially selected seasonal teas—a true celebration of flavor and festivity. Seats are limited for this enchanting holiday tradition—reserve yours today and make this Christmas one to remember!
