We have a simple motto at the tearoom:
Wear what makes you feel most beautiful!
_____
In the Victorian era, afternoon tea evolved from a modest mid-afternoon snack into a cherished social tradition. Ladies dressed in their finest hats, gowns, and gloves to gather between four and five o’clock, as tea moved from private parlors to the elegant tearooms of London’s grand hotels.
Though times have changed, the spirit of the tradition lives on. Just as those fashionable gatherings once called for a touch of glamour, we believe the experience of afternoon tea at The Royal Tea Room is best enjoyed in a fabulous outfit. We encourage dressy, smart, or business casual attire to match the occasion.
The Royal Tea Room encourages children to experience the joy of afternoon tea. However, we do kindly ask that your wee guests are of the age to sit through a 90-minute tea service without disrupting other guests.
For the safety of the staff and guests, children must stay seated at all times.
Children must be accompanied to the restroom by an adult.
There are many delicate items at the tea room that are not so easily replaceable, so we ask that your wee guests are supervised at all times.
We are unable to provide highchairs or booster seats.
You can expect to spend 90 minutes enjoying your tea experience at the tea room.
While we strive to offer a variety of delicious menu options, we are unable to accommodate individual dietary restrictions or food allergies at this time. We kindly encourage guests with specific dietary needs to review our menu in advance to determine if our offerings are suitable.
Our afternoon tea is served prix fixe, with thoughtfully curated courses for you to enjoy. Guests may select either the 4- or 5-course experience, offered at a fixed per-person price. Please note that substitutions or omissions are not available.
At The Royal Tea Room, we believe every day holds something worth celebrating. For life’s extra special moments, we offer the option to reserve our tearoom for private events.
